The 4 Days Uganda safari to Lake Mburo national park and gorilla trekking in Bwindi gorilla National Park. This is a budget-friendly package and a short safari taking you through a game viewing tour in the savannas of Lake Mburo NP and gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Lake Mburo NP will be the best place for you to explore and then you proceed to Bwindi in the far Southwestern side of Uganda.

At Lake Mburo national park, expect to engage in a game drive and boat cruise. This is Uganda’s most accessible wildlife park and holds faunal species such as zebras, buffaloes, warthogs, Rothschild giraffes, hippos, elands, Kobs, impalas, and others. Bwindi NP spans on the land area of 331sq.km offering refuge to diversity of animals including gorillas, buffaloes, black-fronted duikers, yellow-backed duikers plus 350 species of birds.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Travel from the heart of Kampala/Entebbe to Lake Mburo NP, boat cruise tour

The 4-day adventure tour in Uganda begins with pick up and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park in Kiruhura District. It will be a short drive of about 3-4 hours’ drive via Masaka city and covers a stopover at the Equator crossing.

Lake Mburo N/Park is woodland and savanna grassland dominated park, home to unique animals including buffaloes, impalas, zebras, hyenas, leopards, jackals, and birds like yellow papyrus gonoleks etc.

Once you have reached the park, proceed to check in at the safari lodge and also enjoy lunch. After lunch, you have a short launch cruise of 2-3 hours on Lake Mburo and this comes with stunning views of hippos, crocodiles and water birds.

Day 2: Game drive & transfer to Bwindi by road transport

Set off from the wildlife safari lodge for a guided game drive through the rich habitats of Lake Mburo NP. Expect remarkable encounter of different faunal species including cape buffaloes, hyenas, reedbucks, oribis, elands, zebras, leopards, waterbucks, and Rothschild giraffes, etc. From the game drive, proceed to the Southwestern Uganda to visit Bwindi NP your next destination.

Day 3: Trek with Bwindi rare mountain gorillas

Gorilla trekking is a life changing adventure, a great opportunity for you to explore mountain gorillas in the wild. First, you and the rest of the guest will gather at the park offices for briefing about guidelines which you will observe while in the jungles with these rare apes. The journey to see gorillas is entirely unpredictable and it may take 2-6 hours.

It takes endurance and some fitness level for you to have a complete round trek with Bwindi NP gorillas. On locating a family of these primates, you will have one hour primarily dedicated for you to take pictures and observing how these apes behave.

After, walk back and enjoy a relaxed stay at the lodge pre-booked by your tour operator on the ground. In the evening, join others on a cultural visit to the Batwa community. Get to know the unique ancient tools used by the Batwa pygmies for hunting and gathering. At the Batwa community, do not miss the inspirational dances and music performance from locals.
