1 day Rwanda gorilla trekking from Kigali driving 2 hours to Volcanoes national park to see mountain gorillas and drive back to Kigali for drop off. Rwanda’s airports are close to the gorilla destination compared to other Gorilla destinations. Tourists will be able to watch the Gorillas and connect back to the capital Kigali so easily and fly back to their countries on the same day if they wish to do so. Gorillas live in the Virunga mountains in the North of Rwanda in the Volcanoes National Park.
Day 1: Gorilla tracking
You will be picked by our professional guide from your Hotel/lodge or airport in Kigali and immediately be on your way for a 2-3 hours’ journey to Ruhengeri on the Northern side of the republic of Rwanda towards the home of Gorillas in the Volcanoes National Park. You will soon be at the park and immediately head to the starting point for briefing with other guests. You will be divided into groups of 8 and be led into the forest in search for habituated mountain Gorillas. After several hours of trekking, you will meet a habituated group of Gorillas as they go on with their daily activities. The trekking may take 2-6 hours depending on the movement of the Gorilla group. Upon meeting the Gorillas, you will be given a full hour of interaction with the Gorillas as the guides share their insight on the life of mountain Gorillas. After this exciting exercise, you will be led to the starting point to receive your Gorilla trekking certificate and join your guide to go for lunch and return to Kigali city for departure.
