Queen Elizabeth National/Game Park also best referred to as medley of wonders is comprised of key game viewing sections; Ishasha and Kasenyi. It is a vast protected area with land area coverage of 1978sq.km and offers refuge to diversity of wildlife including African elephants, cape buffaloes, waterbucks, bushbucks, lions, leopards, warthogs and hippos. Varied primates thriving within the Kyambura Gorge and include chimpanzees, olive baboons, red-tailed monkeys, vervet monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a spectacular compact tropical forest and covers the land area of 331sq.km. This is a rich rainforest park with over 120 mammal species including 459 mountain gorillas, side-striped jackals, golden cats, buffaloes, yellow-backed duikers, giant forest hogs and 350 bird species.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up & transfer to Kampala

On arrival at the Entebbe International Airport (EBB), our company representative will be present to warmly welcome you. After, you will be transferred to the hotel in Kampala city for a night stay.

Day 2: Kampala –Queen Elizabeth Park with photography at the Equator

A leisurely breakfast be enjoy at the hotel in Kampala and after, you will begin your journey to Queen Elizabeth Game Park. Drive via the Equator crossing and expect to have great time taking pictures and there is an option of performing an experiment using water to determine the 2 hemispheres –Northern and Southern. After, your safari leader will take you to Igongo Cultural Center for lunch break and your next stop will be at the lodge in Queen Elizabeth Game Park.

Day 3: Game drive via Kasenyi with a guide and Kazinga boat cruise

Today, you will have the best of sunrise game viewing experience through Kasenyi Plains. This is the Northern section of Queen Elizabeth Park and will have you exposed to endless fauna. Expect to observe diversity of wildlife including cape buffaloes, elephants, lions, warthogs, waterbucks, leopards, and many avifaunal species.

Once you have returned to the lodge, expect to have lunch early and relax. Your driver will pick you again and today’s afternoon includes a boat cruise excursion on the Kazinga channel. This involves observing aquatic life such as hippos, crocodiles and water birds.

Day 4: Transfer to Kyambura for chimpanzee tracking and also see other primates

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kyambura Gorge to enjoy a memorable trek through a rainforest in search for habituated chimpanzee community. Expect to enjoy a maximum of an hour on face-to-face with chimpanzees and after, proceed to Ishasha for a night stay.

Day 5: Game drive through Ishasha & depart for Bwindi

Leave your safari lodge for a sunrise game drive via Ishasha sector in the Southern end of Queen Elizabeth Park. Along this sector, expect to observe animals such as the tree climbing lions, elephants, buffaloes, topis and endemic birds. Lunch be enjoyed in the wild and after such remarkable memory at Ishasha, set off to Bwindi NP.

Day 6: Enjoy mind-blowing gorilla trekking experience and Batwa community visit

Be up early from your bed, enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and after, set off for briefing at the respective park offices. You will be allocated one habituated gorilla family and the park guide to lead you through the long day trek.

The trekking will be done on already habituated gorilla family group starting at 8:00am and this adventure will go for 2-6 hours. It includes an hour of observing how gorillas behave and taking their pictures then you will be accompanied back to the briefing centre to get a certificate. From the briefing point, connect to the lodge for lunch and relaxation then end the day with Batwa cultural experience.

Day 7: Bwindi –Lake Bunyonyi, boat ride with local guide

A hefty breakfast be enjoy at leisure and after, your safari guide will collect you. Drive through Kabale to Lake Bunyonyi, Uganda’s deepest lake with 29 islands. En-route, enjoy lunch in one of the best restaurants in Kabale town. Proceed to check in at the lodge at Lake Bunyonyi and after, join others on a sunset/afternoon boat ride to one of the beautiful islands.

Day 8: Departure time

Today mainly includes early morning breakfast and transfer back to Entebbe. This journey includes en-route lunch at Igongo cultural centre; photography and leg stretching at the Equator crossing. After, drive straight to the hotel in Entebbe and this marks the end of the trip.
